New Years Resolutions||❤

1) To participate in the goodreads book challenge!
I have wanted to participate in this for quite a while but I just ft like starting it half way through the years was a bit of a waste of time and it felt like I cheated and I wanted it to be fair (I'm just odd, am I THE only one who do wordsearches in alphabetical order because it makes me feel better as  a person? Nope, alright I'm just a bit on the odd side)

2) Schedule blog posts before hand!
I am horrible at this, I end up writing the post on the day it should be published! This means I can't proof read my post properly and that leads to a load of grammatical mistakes, which are not nice for the reader.

3) Create a rating system!
Creating a rating system will probably clean up my posts a bit more. Instead of making the ratings for my reviews non contestant at the top of the post, I do think it should stand out a bit more. I was thinking about maybe either using normal stars or a set of bookworms!

4) Be more active on goodreads!
I feel like I have left goodreads on the side for  a while now and I want to interact with more book bloggers and with the group's I have joined. Recently, I have found myself participating more in discussions and making friend which I found exciting .

5)Have fun!
Next year I want to venture out and do stuff I would never do. I want to see another musical in the West End,  practice violin a lot more, finish tv series, start yoga, possibly start a youtube channel and just enjoy life!

WHAT ARE YOU AIMING FOR THIS YEAR?
Hope you have a wonderful new year full with surprises!

The Sisterhood Blogger Awards||❤

The rules for this are pretty simple:
1) Thank the blogger that nominated you and link back to their site
2) Post the award's logo on your blog
3) Answer the 10 questions you've been asked
4) Nominate 10 bloggers
5) Set 10 new questions for your nominee

Thank you to the amazing Anna @Enchanted By Us for tagging me!!

1)What inspired you to start blogging?
I've always had a couple of blogs beforehand and they were horrible. They were mainly of me doing posts every couple of months with really bad quality photos. I then started a beauty blog which I did manage to keep but it wasn't my thing, I had a fashion blog which only lasted a while and then my friend told me about book blogging. I was quite unsure but I soon found myself posting more and I found a hobby I really loved!

2)Are your family avid readers
My parents do read quite a lot and were the ones who encouraged me to read more, my sister is not a big fan of reading, my brother reads once in a while it's usually James Bond or the Hobbit and stuff like that, my oldest brother loves to read! He is not really fiction but books about politics

3)How many books do you on average read in a month?
On average I read around 5 books a month! Sometimes I read more but I try to concentrate more on the content and pick out the details for my reviews.

4)Where do you read?
I mainly read in my room sitting on my bed, sometimes I sit down on the sofa with the tv playing softly in the background and sometimes when I eat my breakfast, my mum doesn't agree with reading at the table though!

5)What do you do if you fall into a reading slump?
What I would do is re read a book which really made me smile and if that doesn't work I wouldn't force myself to read but I would take a break and somehow read some short stories. There is always Wattpad to!!

6)What genre do you want to read more from?
Definitely sci-go because I have started to t even more and fantasy and paranormal because they have really caught my attention this year!

7)Do you review every book you read?
No, sometimes it isn't necessary and I read the most random books all the time like One Direction Annuals from 3years ago!

8)How do you rate book?
To get an exact rate on my books what I do is I make notes in my notebook on the book I am reading whilst reading it. After writing the review I look over my notes and give a rough rating from them, I usually do stars but I might change it to bookworms!

9)What's your favourite quote from a book?
As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep;slowly and then all at once-The Fault In Our Stars

10)What was the last book you gave 5stars to?

I don't actually remember as Iam quite picky when giving out 5 stars now but I think it was for The Coldest Girl In Coldtown.

Thank you again Anna for tagging me in this! I tag ANYONE to do this tag, feel free to answer my questions!

1)What is your favourite thing about blogging?
2)If you could be any character in a book for a day who would you be?
3)What are your book turn offs?
4)Who are your favourite bloggers?
5)What other interests do you have other that reading/blogging?
6)Who is your favourite author?
7)What is the frontiers book cover you have seen so far?
8)If you could only read one genre for a year what would it be?
9)Do you ever judge a book by its cover?
10)Team Edward or Team Jacob? (I just had to add this question.... :D )

Naomi...xxx

The Fifth Wave-A Book Review||❤

The Fifth Wave (#1)
By Rick Yancey
Publication Date: May 7th 2013
Rating: 4.8/5

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker.

Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

My Thoughts...

The 5th wave follows the new world wrecked by 'The Others' or as they are known as, aliens. They plan to wipe out the earth and by doing that they attempt to wipe out the human race. It does seem to work though as billions die and more yet to come. They attack through a series of wave the first 'lights out', the second 'surfs up', the third 'pestilence', and the fourth 'silencers'. The 5th wave has started but they are clueless of what it is. What lengths will these others go to, to kill off humanity?

This is probably hands down one of the best books I have read this year! It is filled with action, a sprinkle of romance and stir it together with a mindblowing concept. There you have a recipe for the perfect sci-fi book. I wasn't really a fan of sci-fi. It was kind of all same and I just wasn't that excited whenever a new one popped up but the 5th wave changed my whole outlook on the whole genre. A book which could completely change my mind on a genre needs an oscar asap!

In the book we are switching from one perspective to another. Obviously, the first one would be the main character Cassie but the other one we don't know (it is not Evan, I repeat, it is not Evan) and have to figure out as the reader which is quite fun. It injects the feeling of suspense as you hang onto every single sentence trying to find out who is who. Also what interests me the most about the book is that we are stuck in different situations with each person. We start to realise the whole purpose of why her brother and many other children but then we uncover how 'The Other' are operating  and how you can never know what is lurking.

The only fault I had with the book was that I found  Cassie and Evan annoying. Example: When she was observing Evan's butt....wait a minute I thought you were dying..hmm suspicious. It just annoyed me because it was just cringeworthy. When Cassie had to you know remove some shrapnel from Evan's behind I couldn't stop laughing because it reminded me of the post Dodgy Book Covers Of 2014 (the cover What A Lady Demands) By The Diva Book Nerd and I just couldn't take it seriously. What annoyed me about Evan was that he was just plain creepy. Just creepy. Goodreads will agree with me on that, definitely. What really made me not throw my kindle across the room were the other supporting characters who added a bit of a flair to the story. My favourite would have to be Ringer, who you will meet during the book, and her fiery personality.

Overall, I did really enjoy the book and I will definitely be interesting into reading the rest of the trilogy and finding out what happens as I was left on a bit of a cliff hanger and I might as well just read it! If you are not into sci-fi read it, if you are read it!
note: I just found out that the book is becoming a film!! *fangirls for 15 minutes* I'm back to my normal state after some hardcore fangirling and gosh CHLOE GRACE MORTEZ IS GOING TO PLAY CASSIE! Alright, this film in my priority! January 2016 here I come!!!!!

Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone-A Book Review||❤

Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone
By J.K Rowling
Publication Date: June 30th 1997
Rating: 5 stars

Harry Potter thinks he is an ordinary boy - until he is rescued by an owl, taken to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, learns to play Quidditch and does battle in a deadly duel. The Reason: HARRY POTTER IS A WIZARD!

My Thoughts

This series is probably the first series I ever got into when I was in primary school. I was suddenly plunged into a world of Quiditch, spells and Draco Malfoy (swoons). This book made my imagination go wild and I started to believe that there was a different place where magic was real. Sadly, I didn't get my Hogwarts acceptance letter and didn't get to explore Diagon Alley (sobs to myself) but I do vow that in another life, if there is another, I will get my way through there and marry Malfoy!!

What I love about this book is that it is different. Who would've thought about such a cool concept and I love how we follow Harry and his friends through the whole year and as soon as it finishes you want another to carry on straight away and grab the next book. Each page has you hanging on every single line. It is not over complicated that you have to keep on raking in your head what happened in the page before, it isn't horribly written that is is driving you to chuck the book across the room and scream 'I give up' (naming no names *cough* Allegiant *cough*)  and not boring that I'm skimming past to find something interesting. Also, it has a hat which sings every single year (only in the books so you HAVE to read them!)

Overall, I do think you should read this book as it is mystical, magical and a hell load of fun! And to end to congratulate the author for such fabulous books........ TEN POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR!

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
 This week is..........

Duplicity
By N.K Traver
Publication Date: March 17th 2015
In private, seventeen-year-old Brandon hacks bank accounts just for the thrill of it. In public, he looks like any other tattooed bad boy with a fast car and devil-may-care attitude. He should know: he’s worked hard to maintain that façade. With inattentive parents who move constantly from city to city, he’s learned not to get tangled up in things like friends and relationships. So he’ll just keep living like a machine, all gears and wires.

Then two things shatter his carefully-built image: Emma, the kind, stubborn girl who insists on looking beneath the surface – and the small matter of a mirror reflection that starts moving by itself. Not only does Brandon’s reflection have a mind of its own, but it seems to be grooming him for something—washing the dye from his hair, yanking out his piercings, swapping his black shirts for … pastels. Then it tells him: it thinks it can live his life better, and it’s preparing to trade places.

And when it pulls Brandon through the looking-glass, not only will he need all his ill-gotten hacking skills to escape, but he’s going to have to face some hard truths about who he’s become. Otherwise he’ll be stuck in a digital hell until he’s old and gray, and no one will even know he's gone.

Why Am I Waiting This Wednesday?

Hold up, I think I just found a new book boyfriend to add to my list. He is a tattooed bad boy who hacks computers and drives fast boys. I'm in! There is a chance of him turning to his good side and that does make my heart swoon!

What are you waiting on?

Insurgent Trailer!||❤

The Insurgent Trailer has finally come out!! But....wait for it.....I found it boring. I thought that some parts of the trailer weren't actually in the book from what I remember. Also, I thought things were over dramatised that it actually was hilarious. COME ON TOBIAS YOU COULD'VE WAITED FOR THE TRAIN TO GO PAST!

I won't lie but I am genuinely excited for this one. I hope it isn't as horrible as the book was. I have kind of high hopes for this film. I at first thought that the clip in the trailer when Tris is jumping off the building was a troll but nope, it is actually in the film. I don't really think I can take that part seriously!

Zoella's Ghostwritten Book-My Opinion||❤

Hi guys,
So today I decided to talk about a topic which has been the talk on twitter and in the newspapers recently. We were all quite shocked when we found out that Zoella's book was actually ghostwritten. It caused rage and hate which was very much uneeded for. In my honest opinion I don't really mind it was ghost written it is not like it is uncommon to get help to write the book. At least it involved all of her ideas and maybe she just needed help because of her busy schedule to finish the book up.

I do not think I can judge Zoe in anyway possible as I have not read the book myself so I wouldn't know if the book actually 'screams ghostwritten.' What was the most interesting part about this was that people were enraged due to the fact that she didn't actually admit it herself (not entirely sure if she said so or not) and they expected her to have so much time in her hands to keep track of her youtube, beauty range and blog. I do think that people were overreacting to this completely and acted like Zoe didn't think of any of the characters or ideas. We all know the book is based on her blogging career and her personality but she did put a twist to it. There is nothing wrong with having your book ghostwritten as it has happened so many times before and isn't alien to any of us but as soon as Zoe's book is revealed to be ghostwritten then World War 3 started on twitter!

Although it isn't illegal to not mention or give credit to the ghostwriter, I do think that at least somewhere where the copyright part of the book is then maybe in tiny writing it should say their name and what they have helped to do. One ridiculous thing which did make me laugh was that somepeople wanted the ghostwriter's name plastered at the front of the book with the authors one!
What is your view on this?

Orenda-A Book Review||❤

Orenda
By Ruth Silver
Publication Date: April 13th 2014
Rating: 2.5 stars
Join forces with a parallel universe.

Dark forces, magical creatures, and the world Lil thought she knew collide when a dream transports her to the strange world of Orenda. Stunned and terrified, Lil comes face to face with her doppelganger, Willow, who possesses the ability to travel between the two worlds. Everything Lil knows logically says that Orenda can’t exist, but a small clue may be proof that it was more than an ordinary dream. With the threat of her sister in danger, Lil crosses dimensions but it may cost her even more than she bargained for.

A sword wielding girl, the eternal suit, and a parallel universe come together in this action- packed Young Adult fantasy adventure that will keep readers of all ages turning the pages. Orenda is the first novel in the Orenda series.

My Thoughts....
*DISCLAIMER: This book was sent to me by YA Bound Book Tours in exchange for an honest book review*
I was  surprisingly disappointed when I started the book. The cover and synopsis are phenomenal and that was  what drew me into the book. The fact that I didn't like the book from the first pages made it even worse. We didn't even capture the normality of the main characters life and suddenly she is entering parallel universes and jumping into the car of a man who claims he is her cousin. I do think that the book was completely rushed with unneeded attempts of injecting failed romances. It was quite messy and I found myself being lost at parts. A note to the author that asterisks should be added when switching to another character because it was confusing having to turn the page and pick it up yourself.

One thing I really want to highlight is the romance. There are the two characters who don't really get along. Hudson has a thing against Lil and is seen to be quite snappy. Around 5 blooming hours later he is at her room nearly bloody kissing her. Wait a minute, a couple pages ago they didn't even talk and now they are in love. Talk about character development!! Continuing on the topic of characters, I found that I didn't like a single one of them. Either they were too bad-ass or too naïve. The supposed villain was the complete opposite of any villain I could predict every move and then the fairies. Why oh why oh whywhy!!

I am trying to be as positive as possible in this review so let's talk about the good stuff. The plot was alright, a very original concept but it just needed not to have  so many things in it. Maybe if we spent more time getting to know the characters at the start of the book and the ending was put into maybe the second part of the series it would've been perfect. Also, I felt like the romance part was unnecessary, if she just didn't have to fall for the boy then the book would've at least got a 3.5 stars instead.

Overall I don't think that I will be reading any more of this series. Although my review was quite negative I did give it a 2 stars for the idea. Don't judge a book by its cover people.

A Boy Called Hope-A Short Book Review||❤

A Boy Called Hope
By Lara Williamson
Publication Date: March 1st 2014
Rating: 5 stars
I'm Dan Hope and deep inside my head I keep a list of things I want to come true.

For example, I want my sister, Ninja Grace, to go to university at the North Pole and only come back once a year.
I want to help Sherlock Holmes solve his most daring mystery yet. And if it could be a zombie mystery, all the more exciting.
I want to be the first eleven-year-old to land on the moon.
I want my dog to stop eating the planets and throwing them up on the carpet.
And finally, the biggest dream of all, I want my dad to love me.
A Boy Called Hope is a brave, bold and funny debut about family in all its shapes and sizes.

My Thoughts...
This heart-warming book will have you shedding a tear young or old. Although the book is actually aimed at younger children I was still sucked in and didn't dare to put this book down. Dan is a loveable, sweet and hilarious character who wants his father and only his father, even if it means breaking into his garden to look for him. His sister is constantly telling him to give up and that doesn't make him lose hope but fight even stronger, He sends emails and waits inside the news studios but he has only seen his father through the TV screen. Dan is quite the daydreamer and planner and is always there with a helping hand. I found myself very fond of him and his quirky attitude.

Overall, I would recommend this book to all young readers and also around the tween age. Your eyes will not fail to water when you read this book. If you are looking for a short and sweet and easy read this is definitely for you. I took me a surprisingly short time to read the book, maybe it was because that it had 291 pages the words were quite large.

Random Ramblings||❤

Hi Guys,
As the title says, I will be rambling a bit and todays topic is *drum roll* MUSIC!! Woop woop (enter confetti and strobe lighting!) Yep! Something you might not know about me is that I am obsessed with music and anything to do with musicals. I tend to irritate people by belting out Colours Of The Wind in science and pretending I'm Elsa, but everyone does that......right?

If you haven't heard of this musical, what planet have you been living on?! I went to see it early this year and it sure was spell bounding! I found that the musical was way better than the book and I knew every single song already. My fave song is definitely For Good, it had me bawling my eyes out!

These guys are my favourite band. My school planner is covered in their lyrics and my instagram feed has constant photos and memes of them. I love the feel they have to their music and it just makes you feel free whenever you listen to their music. Plus they all look like awesome guys and they are hilarious in their interviews!
I lurvvvee Taylor Swift now! Her music is just so catchy and always puts my mood up when I'm down. I love how she deals with all the hate and she comes across as a genuinely nice person! She isn't snobby or big-headed! She is gorgeous as well and I am turning towards the Swifty route.

ASDFGGHKKL! She is actually perfect. Her music moves me so much and makes you feel so independent and strong. She is beautiful, talented and just amazing. I love her and her music!

This band is the definition of phenomenal they are just real, I love their sound and they are perf. Their music might not be everyones cup of tea but this is THE BAND!!

This is some of my music taste as I have many more to show but the post was going to have like 10 rock bands with lengthy paragraphs to them! I might even make this a weekly thing for myself!
Plus, I bought my advent calender a couple of days ago and it is making me feel so christmasy!!

Who is you favourite band/artist??

And he’s the only thing standing between me and the secret organization that wants me dead…

BOOK EXCERPT:
Another bell rang. I spun wildly, searching for the source, and my foot slipped out from under me. My left foot joined my right, sliding down a rocky surface.
A scream tore past my lips.
My brain fought to figure out what was happening as my hands gripped for something—anything because I was falling. My head swiveled.
I couldn’t comprehend the giant, gaping crack I’d fallen into. A fissure in the ground at
least eight feet wide. My fingers sunk into the cracked concrete, barely holding on. Sliding.
Then I looked down.
No end in sight. An abyss.
Everything around me blurred, and all I could see was black. And in that blackness was
the one thing I was terrified of: death. My stomach pitched and my chest heaved, but no air
moved in or out of my lungs. I was suffocating.
Ripping my eyes away from the darkness, I focused on my hands, still grasping at the
gravely terrain crumbling beneath them. My right foot slipped, and my fingers dug deeper into
the ground. It was a mixture of rock, and mud, and I didn’t know what. It felt like glass shards
were being shoved under my fingernails.
I dug in with my toes, using the muscles in my legs to slow my descent. I slid to a halt, but the
rocks and substrate continued to crumble beneath me. I searched blindly for a sturdy foothold.
My foot found a rocky lip, but as soon as I thought it was safe, it gave way. My right silver flip-
flop plummeted into the darkness so eager to swallow me.
Attempting to force my gaze upward, I focused on the contrast of the dark surrounding me and
the bright light above, the line where they met. Technically, I’d die in broad daylight.
“Think, Josie.” The voice was strong, demanding. It took a second for it to register. “Josie, look at me.”

Reid. Reid was here. That’s where I was. I was at Reid’s place. I’d come here to train. I’m an Oculi. It all became clear as I broke free from the terror.
I wrenched my head toward his voice, my gaze meeting his. He crouched above me at the surface, his eyes my lifeline because he didn’t offer a hand. He wasn’t about to coddle me. That wasn’t his style. He said, “Breathe. Think.” Dragging in an uneven breath, looking into his clear eyes, something clicked in the far reaches of my mind.Stairs. I Pushed with no effort. No headache, no nausea. I blinked, and stairs carved themselves into the side of the chasm, jutted out as if they’d always been there. With great hesitancy, I climbed the stairs on all fours, close to the wall. I could see the surface, right within my reach. Whoosh. The stairs were gone. I felt myself tumbling, falling. Flailing along the wall of the abyss with nothing to stop my descent.
“React, Josie!”

Think.

I focused on the surface, on the light growing dimmer the farther I skidded. Earth. Ground beneath my feet. I Pushed. And Pushed. Pain. Nausea. Dizziness. Thunder sounded below, like the darkness of the chasm was rising up to swallow me whole. Something hit my feet so hard that it tossed me in the air. Up. Up. Into the light. My thoughts didn’t coalesce clearly, but I felt myself rising. The pain behind my eyes made my vision waver. I shot to the warehouse floor. Reid reached for me as I collapsed. My lungs rebelled, and tears burned trails down my cheeks. Dirt covered my hands and caked beneath my fingertips. One fingernail had broken to the quick. It bled sullenly. I wasn’t about to look weak in front of him, though, so I held out my arm to ward off his offer of help. I stood tall
on trembling legs. Reid closed the gap between us, his arms extended like he would embrace me. “Josie—”
The light streaming through the warehouse windows dimmed and flickered. Darkness edged my periphery. I balled my trembling fist and slammed my knuckles into his cheek. White heat shot through my hand before everything went black.
