The Georgia Nicolson Series- A Book Review||❤

Hello!
You are probably wondering why this series of books is first in my top ten reads well today you will find out why.
The book/film almost everyone knows about is Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging which is a really big teen film which came out a couple of years back.
As soon as I started the series of books I never looked back, I always had one with me and I read all of them in one month! And those books are quite large but I did crave the laughter and how relatable this was to me and any other teen around the world. It has everything a girl is waiting for, a first kiss, first dates, the pesky parents and of course the school reputation of course. I mean this whole series describes the life of the average 14-15 year old. It's all about sleepovers with the best friends and gazing at your crush endlessly

I cannot describe how much I love this book and it is the Holy Grail of all teen books. The jokes are unforgettable and had my stomach aching from laughing so much. The amount of times I have recommened this book to people and they think I'm weird when I randomly start laughing when I remember silly parts from the book. Last but not least I just can't forget the famous snogging scale, I mean who could forget that. Overally I would rate this book a 10/5 and I'm actually being serious at how amazingly and wonderfully brilliant this series of books.

Rebel Angels- A Book Review||❤ *Spoiler Alert*

I have decided that now I will doing 2 book reviews every weeks so the blog can stay active and I might add the feature 'Waiting on Wednesdays'.
Today I will be reviewing the historical novel, Rebel angels by Libba Bray.

First of all I want to tell you guys how awesome this book is. It has introduced a totally new genre to me which I now officially love! I thought that this book was different and I like the idea of women being the heroes and the ones who save the day because now these day more female heroes are becoming dominant in books. At only one part in the book which made me cringe was at the end of chapter seven. It made me wince slightly at how it was addressed and the way the chapter ended made me laugh for a bit. Other than that I found it so gripping. I was shivering and some parts which were quite haunting and I liked the idea of another world other than the one we live in. I liked how it set in a time where being person who had vision and had access to another world where thought as crazy. Now a days you can say you had visions in your sleep and the whole world would believe it and you would be able to make so much money from it. 

Sadly I haven't read the first book of the trioligy mainly because I had never heard of it and the cover had caught my eye in the school library. I was in a rush and didn't know which book to pick so I went to the new/popular book shelf and picked up a random book. I wish that I had read the first one, mainly because then I would've understood the storyline and the characters way better. Like Miss Moore, I knew nothing about her and her like to the story but I had to do a bit of research before carrying on with the book.

What made the book even more scary was when *Spoiler Alert* Nell keeps on saying the nursery rhyme Jack and Jill but never finishes it. It is always the sweet and cute rhymes which scare me the most when they are said in a frightful way. I could just imagine this being a horror film. Also another part was when Gemma was visiting the hospital her brother worked at and when a mute man suddenly talks to her and snaps his jaw like a dog I was on the edge of my seat, I liked how all along and for the whole book it convinced you that one character was the villain but then there is a sudden plot twist! This book is definitely making it's way up my top ten best reads. Overall I would give it a 4.5/5 because there was just that one cringeworthy bit which just made it miss the full marks.

Divergent- A Book Review||❤

Today I will be reviewing a must read book by Veronica Roth called Divergent. This book is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone and has made my top ten reads will be a newly added tab at the top.

I had a love/hate relationship with this book. I found parts a bit of a yawn and I didn't feel the excitement others had. I liked the ideas of factions but it got boring to me. It was like I could predict what would happen in the book, it wasn't explained well, the simulation test parts were a bit weird to me and I didn't get to know all the characters in the book. I thought the plot twist at the end wasn't as amazing as I thought it would be. To be honest I just didn't feel surprised. The plot is brilliant and clever but if only it was written by a better author. I'm not trying to offend the Veronica Roth fans but I find her writing boring and she doesn't have a certain 'flair' to her books. On the other hand it was quite a good book and was not one of the worst ones I have read. If only there was another author with the concept but they bought character to the book. To me it seemed like something I would find on Wattpad! I would give this book a 3/5 mainly because of the storyline but other than that it would've received a lower mark.

Matched- A Book Review||❤

Today I will be reviewing the book called Matched. It is a book about a city where people are being controlled. They pick what food you eat, what your job is, when your going to die and who you will be with for the rest of your life. 
The description from goodreads.com says, "Imagine a society where everything was chosen for you, even the person you will spend the rest of your life with. For Cassia she has never questioned the society that she was born to.  She is even pleased that her best friend Xander is chosen to be her ideal mate at her matching ceremony. Everything was perfect, until Cassia saw a brief flash of Ky Markhams face on the screen during her matching ceremony. So was Xander her ideal or was Ky? Now Cassia is doubting everything that the society does. Together with Xander and Ky, Cassia will defy the very structure of her government, and shake the foundations of the very principles that she once believed in." 

The blurb of the book sounds awesome, right? But really it is horrible. It is actually one of the worst books I have ever read. The plot was messy, the pace of the book at points were too fast and too slow and it was hard to connect with and understand the book. I mean usually I never hate a book but this one looked so good, the cover was awesome and the blurb just made me want to read the book even more. To be honest I think that the blurb was better than the actual content in the book. I was very disappointed and it felt like the whole book wasn't as thoughtful and enticing as I wanted to be but I can't always get what I want.
If you are interested in reading books about controlling cities I would advise you to read the hunger games or divergent which are, personally, very well written and draws you in from the first sentence. Overall I would give the book 2/5 I would've given it the one if it had a different theme. Maybe you liked the book? But to see if you really like it go and read the book!! This book has taught me never to judge a book by its cover, with an incredible cover the that the story should have been as good as the cover of the book.
